At FFO Goods, we believe in the power of giving back, not just in words, but through actions that make a real difference. Our partnership with the Colorado Springs 4x4 Non-Profit is a perfect example of how businesses and organizations can work together to drive positive change. As part of this collaboration, FFO Goods proudly donates 5% of our revenue to support the mission of Colorado Springs 4x4, helping provide essential resources to those in need within our community.
Today, we’re thrilled to share an exclusive Q&A session with Max Hobbs, the director of Colorado Springs 4x4 Non-Profit, who sheds light on the organization's important work and how our partnership helps further their mission. Max’s insights into the world of community service, adventure, and outreach will inspire you and reaffirm the importance of making a difference. Let’s dive into the conversation with Max and learn more about the impactful work happening in our own backyard.
Q: Why did you create a non-profit?
We had been hosting events and fundraising for about 2 years, unknowingly acting as a nonprofit while doing so. I always enjoyed partnering with existing organizations who were already helping people in the community, but never got to see where the money went, or who it really benefited. Getting our 501c3 designation allowed us to be more hands on with the support that we give and be able to legitimately accept donations to use for our mission.
Q: What is your core mission?
Driven by the spirit of adventure and community, COS 4X4 is dedicated to supporting our local neighbors by uniting enthusiasts to raise funds and provide essential assistance to veterans and families facing financial hardships. Our goal is to combine our love for off-roading with a commitment to making a positive impact, ensuring that every member of our community has the support they need to overcome challenges on and off the trail.
Q: How do you define success for your non-profit?
For me, success would be helping even just one veteran get into a better place in life. I have big goals for the future, but for now making the difference in the life of someone desperately in need of help would be an incredible success. Whether Cos 4x4 helps one or one hundred community members, I will feel extremely happy either way. Our goal is to make a difference in our community no matter how big or small, though bigger is always better!
Q: What are the biggest challenges your organization is currently facing in achieving its mission?
Right now, being a new organization, it's tough finding the manpower to help grow, and the funding to get our mission off the ground. Running a nonprofit takes time and energy and it’s hard to find people who have both of those available to donate to our cause. We do have a great community of 4x4 owners and related businesses who already do support our cause, so focusing on those who already support us has been fruitful so far!
Q: How can someone get involved in or support your work?
Anyone can help support our mission by donating, sharing events, attending events, and following our Facebook page! To get involved, reach out to Max Hobbs or message the COS 4x4 Non-Profit page on Facebook. We can always use volunteers for local events, trash clean ups, and trail maintenance with the Pikes Peak Ranger District. We are also actively searching for people who are interested in taking board member positions and being actively involved in the organization.
